Mamata Banerjee has questioned the National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) introduced by the Central Government in the General Budget 2018-19. Mamata Banerjee has refused to implement the scheme called ModiKair on the lines of Obama Care in West Bengal. It has become the first state that has refused to implement the Center's scheme. In a program on Tuesday, Mamata Banerjee called this scheme 'useless'.

He asked the Prime Minister, "You have decided that 40% of the state's governments will be involved in this scheme." Why? Did you talk to people before you took a decision. The chief minister of West Bengal said that if we have rupees, then where will they be used, we will not make that decision, will you?

He said that already in the state 'health partner plan' health program is implemented. 50 percent of the people in the state are benefitting. There is nothing new in the center's plans, so we can not accept it. Questioning the government's motive, he cited Amitabh Kant, Mamata Banerjee said that this scheme would cost Rs 5500 to Rs 6000 crore annually, whereas the Center has allocated only Rs 2 thousand crore. They hope that the state governments will give the remaining amount.

Mamata did not stop here, she attacked other plans of the central government too. He said that the Modi government allocated a budget of Rs 100 crore for 'Beti Bachao, Beti Practice' scheme, whereas the West Bengal Government has allocated Rs 5000 crore for Kanyashree project, just for the state.

For your information, let us know that in 2018-19, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced the National Health Protection Scheme. Which will benefit 50 million people of the country.
