Union environment minister Anil Madhav Dave, who was a member of the Rajya Sabha since 2009, passed away on Thursday. He was 60. 
Last year, Dave has took oath as a minister with independent charge of environment, forest and climate change. Born in Barnagar in Madhya Pradesh, Dave was unmarried.
“Anil Madhav Dave ji will be remembered as a devoted public servant. He was tremendously passionate towards conserving the environment,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted.
“I was with Anil Madhav Dave ji till late last evening, discussing key policy issues. This demise is a personal loss.”
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani expressed sorrow and grief on sudden demise of Dave. Condoling his death, he said Dave will be remembered for ever for the services he rendered as an RSS leader. 
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also expressed shocked and said he was saddened by the demise of Dave.
He tweeted, "Deeply shocked & saddened by demise of my colleague, Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave ji. May God render peace to the departed soul."
Shatrughan Sinha extented condolences to the Minister's family thorugh his tweet. He tweeted "Saddened by the news of the sudden & untimely demise of environment minister Anil Madhav Dave. My heartfelt condolences to his family."
