Nagpur : Brigade of the Guards Regimental Centre, Kamptee is a premier training institution and highly decorated regiment of the Indian Army.  In order to commemorate Green Revolution Drive, the Centre collected 1500 plus saplings from forest department and a drive for tree plantation was organized on 07 Jul 2017.  Lead by Brig DV Singh, Commandant, GUARDS RC, Kamptee, Officers, Junior Commission Officers, Other Ranks, Recruits and Families participated to make it a successful event. 

Planted trees/saplings included Lemon, Sitafal, Rain tree, Karhi batla, Lasia, Jaman, Karenji, Neam, Boganvilha, Gulmohar, Ashoka and many more.  Following officials of the department of Forest, Government of Maharashtra, Nagpur attended the ceremony:-

(a)       Mr Ashok Girhepunje          - Conservator of Forest, Nagpur Division.

(b)       Mr Mohan Dherre                - District Forest Officer, Nagpur Division.

(c)        Mr Umesh Dhotekar            - Range Officer, Nagpur Division.

The plantative drive was followed by a talk by the forest department officials on modus of plantations post plantation care nurturing of plants, rain water harvesting plans and upkeep of flora and fauna.
