The country's biggest bank, State Bank of India, has lost its sword of job. The bank has exempted more than 10 thousand employees from its job in the last six months. The bank recently merged its six associate banks and the Indian woman bank into its own. This has merged many branches of these banks and the workers have become very much in number. State Bank of India has implemented the merger of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Travancore and Indian Women Bank on April 1 this year.

After the merger, the total number of branches of State Bank of India has increased by 6,847 and their number has increased to 23,423. According to State Bank statistics, 11,382 retirees have retired during April to September, while only 798 new recruits have been recruited.

According to the information given by the bank, the total number of employees during March 2017 was 2,79,803, and at the end of September, the number has decreased to 2,69,219.
