Today in Nagpur, Monday 101h July 2017, under the stewardship of Mr. Brijesh Dixit, MD MAHA-METRO, and with the assistance of Bentley Institute personnel, the MAHA-METRO BIM Academy begins its first sessions for contractors and professionals from other Metro projects around India. BIM Advancement Academies accomplish key goals, via awareness sessions, forums, targeted seminars and planned working groups. Advancement Academies support and increase the use of information mobility in the infrastructure industries, creating a legacy of best practices and innovation.
A classic and successful example of such BIM Advancement Academies established by Bentley is the Cross Rail Academy, based in London, UK. BIM Advancement Academies are powerful vehicles for professionals to help bring complex infrastructure project delivery teams into alignment, and are a proven and effective way for owners or program managers to on-board contractors and the supply chain; to immediately establish and reinforce the basic tenants of BIM throughout the project lifecycle and across teams. BIM Advancement Academies offer owners an effective means of managing the information complexity that occurs within projects, creating the ideal environment to optimize information creation and data flow among project participants. By creating a replica environment of a project's systems and processes, Academies can illustrate the best way to work and how to prepare project teams to execute most effectively using BIM processes.
The format and configuration of a BIM Advancement Academy needs to map to the requirements of each project, and itslocation and setup will evolve and adapt over time as buildings and facilities become available. Whether fixed, mobile, or virtual, offering connections between Academies with state-of-the-art Audio Visual linkage, BIM Advancement Academies generally, and the MAHA-METRO BIM Academy in, will develop in the coming months to become a unique institution offering guidance on the very best in BIM processes with a global perspective. Fixed Academies are already in place in London - UK, and Houston, Texas, with others currently in construction and due to be announced shortly.
