The government has given a big gift for heart patients. The Central Government has decided to reduce the price of Drug Eliting Stent (DES). Although foreign companies were under pressure but the government took this decision.

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has reduced the cost of DES compared to the first three meetings. Now the price of DES will be 27,890 rupees. However the price of the bare metal stent has been increased. Earlier it was priced at Rs 7,260, now its price will be Rs 7660.

It is worth mentioning that on February 13, 2017, the cement was first crafted, after which it was reviewed a year later. After which the new price was fixed on Monday. Let us know that the NPPA has said that there will be no category in the DES stent while companies wanted to divide it into separate categories.

If categories were separated, surely the prices would also increase. The NPPA has made it clear that patients will be provided stents only at cheap rates. The NPPA has also given an 8% trade margin on the stent.
