Nagpur : Enthusiasm and curiosity reigned supreme at ‘Induction Programme’ for MBA I year students of Tirpude Institute of Management Education (TIME). The new batch of MBA students is being inducted at the institute in a meticulously planned 5-day programme that commenced on 1st August at the institute’s campus at Civil Lines. The programme was inaugurated today at the hands of Dr. K. Venkatesham, Commissioner of Police, Nagpur. It began with welcoming of guests at the hands of Institute’s Director, Dr. Lalit Khullar. Chief Guest for the function was Dr. K. Venkatesham and the function was presided over by Shri Rajkumarji Tirpude, President, Yugantar Education Society.

Introduction of the guests was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp at the hands of dignitaries to mark the inauguration of this induction programme. Present on the dais, other than guests, were Dr. Lalit Khullar, Director TIME and Dr. Sanjay Kavishwar, Dean-Academics. At the outset Dr. Khullar thanked Dr. K. Venkatesham for sparing his valuable time. In his welcome address he mentioned that it was, indeed, an honour to have a person of the stature of Commissioner of Police amidst students and he exhorted the students to look at him as an icon of success. While reiterating the institute’s philosophy of ‘activity based’ learning, he further advised the students not to ‘pass’ MBA, but ‘do’ MBA by participating in all activities designed by the institute.

During his address to the students, Dr. Venkatesham shared good experiences of his initial years as an IPS officer. He highlighted the virtues associated with public service and advised the students to be enlightened citizens by having inner happiness while aiming for outward success. Bhagwad Geeta, Ramayan, Mahabharata and other religious scriptures should be the guiding principles, since they actually help in achieving inner happiness, he said.

The Commissioner of Police also exhorted students to break mediocrity and excel in their lives by taking small steps and continuously moving ahead. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Sanjay Kavishwar. Present on the occasion were a huge gathering of students being inducted and faculty members of the institute. More events of the induction programme, that are to follow during the next three days, include ‘Know Your College’ Expo, session on GST, interaction with seniors, grooming session, ‘explore yourself’, alumni panel discussion, outdoor and some management games.
