Nagpur : In a day light robbery a distributor of cigratte company was lotted of 7.68 lakhs by youths near Kasturchand park.Despite all claims by the police of round-the-clock patrolling, street crimes continue unabated with one more sensational incident of bag-lifting in broad day light being reported from Sadar area on Monday. Bike-borne robbers looted Rs 7.68 lakh from the employee of of trading company near Kasturchand Park on the busy street sending cops in a tizzy.

 A resident of Purani Basti, old Kamptee Road, Naka No. 4, Kalamna, Arun Mahadeo Karare (36), who works with Raju Distributors, near Hislop College in Civil Lines, was on his way to UnionBank,GandhibagBranch, to deposit Rs 7.68 lakh cash. He was heading towards Central Avenueonhistwo-wheeler(MH- 31/AZ-4248) around 12.30 pm. One of them threw chilli powder in his eyes and snatched away the bag containing cash from Karare. 

Before he could raise an alarm, the robbers fled with the booty. Karare contacted police control room immediately and informed about the incident. Soon staff from Sadar Police Station led by senior Inspector Sunil Bonde rushed to the staff. Senior police officials and Crime Branch team also arrived at the spot. Senior officials ordered ‘Nakabandi’ to trace the robbers on the basis of their description given by Karare. Cops were trying to procure the footage of the CCTV cameras installed at some nearby building to identify the robbers. 

Following Karare’scomplaint, Sadar Police registered a case under Sections 392 and 34 of the IPC. A senior official told ‘
