Nagpur: A resident of Vaishali Nagar, Bandhuji Kumbhare (57) is the owner of New Aakash Jewellers. Around 12.30 pm, Kumbhare was on his way to shop on his Honda Activa (MH- 49/X-3840) after lunch. A few metres from his house near NIT garden, two young men were pretending as if they were playing cricket. On seeing Kumbhare approaching, they covered their faces with scarves andcameonthe road. One of them threw chilli powder in Khumbhare’s eyes while the other attacked him with the bat. After Kumbhare fell down, they snatched his bag containing Rs two lakh cash, 181 gramme gold and and six kilogramme silver ornaments collectively worth Rs eight lakh. They then took Kumbhare’s scooterette and fled with the booty. Injured Kumbhare somehow contacted the police and narrated the incident. Staff from Pachpaoli Police Station led by senior Inspector Narendra Hiwre rushed to the spot. Senior officers, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (ZoneIII) Rahul Maknikar also visited the spot to  supervise the probe.
