The GST Council has reduced the tax rate of more than 200 products last week. Now the council is preparing for new changes in GST. With these changes, the common man can get more relief. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has indicated that the number of GST tax slabs can be reduced.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley dismissed the demand of Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, in which he had demanded to keep GST in the same tax slab. However, he indicated that the number of existing tax slabs of GST could be reduced.

Regarding keeping Rahul Gandhi the same rate, he said that those who are demanding that they do not understand GST. He said that we can not put all things in a single rate. We can not keep things like essential food items and paan and tobacco together in the same tax slab. The food should be zero GST, because it is a great need. In addition, everyday goods should be kept in 5% GST tax slab.

Jaitley said that a product that is harmful to health or that threatens the environment. Such products can not be kept with the product of the common man's needs. The Finance Minister said that within four months of GST, we have made significant changes in the tax slab of 28 per cent. Now any changes in other tax slabs will be made on the revenue received by the government.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also spoke on Friday about the decision to reduce the GST rate reduction to politics on Friday last week. He said that whatever decision is taken about GST, all of them are unanimous. In such a way it is wrong to link politics. He said that this change in GST rate was going on for the last three to four months. They called it childish politics

In addition to reducing tax slabs, decisions can be taken on meetings to bring gasoline and diesel under GST. For the last few days, the price of petrol and diesel is constantly increasing. Relief is not available even after reducing the excise duty of central government and reducing the VAT on behalf of some state governments. In such a situation, the government may consider bringing gasoline and diesel under GST. Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis have also appealed to bring petrol and diesel under GST.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley himself has said that he has brought real estate under the purview of GST. During a program he had said that real estate can be brought under GST soon. By which people will benefit at a large level. In such a situation, it is expected that decisions will be taken in GST's upcoming meetings.

In addition to considering bringing real estate and petrol-diesel under GST, GST Council may consider reducing tax slabs. In addition, he will consider changing the GST laws and rules. In fact, the purpose of this exercise is to increase the convenience of businessmen.

In addition to making significant changes to the traders, the GST Council may consider keeping cement and paint in the tax slab below 28 per cent. At present, both of these products have been placed in the 28% tax slab. They are used in home construction and many important construction works. In such a situation, the council will also consider reducing their rates.
