Nagpur: It’s probably the most-awaited event in the calendar of Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies and Research, called ‘Aasman’. ‘Aasman’ is a celebration of talent. This year, ‘Aasman’, the annual intra-college Youth Festival, was held on 17 th January 2017 at Veterinary college Auditorium ,Seminary Hill,Nagpur. This day- long event provides a platform for a healthy competition and helps bring out the hidden talents within students, who are usually very reserved in the confined spaces of a classroom or a library. The youth festival was formally inaugurated Dr. Nirzar Kulkarni, Dean Admissions and Administration , Dr. Avish Petras, PRO of the Institute. Aasman is a culmination of three days celebration of cultural art and academics called as Aakarshan and Aaveg, and the final day as Aasman.
The college firmly rooted in its traditions, the event began with venerating Lord Gautama Buddha and Dr, Babasaheb Ambedkar followed by a traditional dance. The day long event was a celebration of Art through dance, Fashion show, singing and The Personality contest. Each event was moderated by eminent stalwarts pertaining from the respective genres. The students taking part in the group dance event based their performances on various social issues, in addition to Solo and Duet performances. The college has always chosen to design and deliver innovative programmes with a student centric focus since its inception. The focus is to promote an environment that encourages critical-thinking and contribute to the development of all the facets of society.
